An infant was airlifted to the hospital by Flight For Life on Sunday after suffering burns from a cooking accident in Crystal Lake.
The Crystal Lake Fire Department and Crystal Lake Police Department responded at 4:07 p.m. on Sunday to the 200 block of Dartmoor Drive in Crystal Lake for a report of a burn victim.
Fire officials called the incident a “cooking accident.” The infant’s injuries were not life-threatening, but they required transport to a Level 1 trauma center.
A Flight For Life medical helicopter responded and landed at Crystal Lake South High School at 4:33 p.m. The Crystal Lake Fire Department and Crystal Lake Police Department helped setup and secure the landing zone, officials said.
Fire officials have not released any additional information.
