A 63-year-old man has been arrested and charged after allegedly stabbing his neighbor in the chest during an argument, sheriff’s officials said.

Lake County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 34400 block of North Almond Road in Warren Township just after 4 p.m. Monday for a report of a stabbing.

When sheriff’s deputies arrived, they found a 58-year-old man with a stab wound to his chest. The man was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with injuries believed to be non-life threatening, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office said.

Authorities said that the 58-year-old man had an ongoing dispute with Michael T. Horton, 63, of the 34400 block of North Almond Road in Warren Township. The two began arguing around 4 p.m. and during the argument Horton allegedly stabbed the victim.

Horton was arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, a class 3 felony. He remains held in the Lake County Jail on a $20,000 bond. Horton is next due in court on November 28.
