A 33-year-old Round Lake man was critically injured after he rolled his vehicle over after losing control of it in Ingleside, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office said.
Lake County Sheriff’s deputies and Fox Lake Fire Protection District firefighters/paramedics responded at 10:23 a.m. on Thursday to Route 134 and West Venetian Drive in Ingleside for a report of a crash with injuries. When sheriff’s deputies arrived, they found a 2016 Dodge Dart with significant damage rolled over in the ditch.
Authorities said that the Dodge Dart, driven by a 33-year-old Round Lake man, was traveling eastbound on Route 134. For an unknown reason, sheriff’s officials said that the vehicle left the roadway and drove onto the shoulder. The driver then overcorrected, crossed into the westbound lane of traffic, before driving off the north side of the roadway where the car then rolled over.
The driver was extricated from the vehicle by firefighters and transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with critical injuries, sheriff’s officials said.
The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.
