A Texas man has been arrested and charged with child abduction in connection with a teen girl from Harvard who went missing.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a missing juvenile at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday in the 11000 block of Route 14 in unincorporated Harvard.

Sheriff’s deputies were told that a 15-year-old girl had left work to meet a man at the Big Foot Inn in Harvard. Family members said that the teen had been talking with this man, known as “Frankie,” on social media and that he was driving from Houston, Texas to see her.

Authorities said that the girl left work at about 1 p.m. on Thursday to meet him and the family had not seen the girl since. An investigation began by police and they identified the man as Francisco Tulul, 19, of Houston, Texas. They also found out that he was trying to bring the girl to Houston.

Sheriff’s officials said that a state-wide search was started, and at 7:20 p.m. on Thursday she was found with Tulul by the Illinois State Police at a rest stop in Edwardsville, Illinois. He was arrested and charged with child abduction (class 4 felony).

Tulul’s bond was set at $20,000. His next court date has not yet been scheduled.
