A wanted Round Lake Beach man was taken into custody after a police canine dog found him hiding in his attic under the insulation.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Team, Round Lake Beach police, and U.S. Marshals helped apprehended Dustin M. Serna, 31, of the 500 block of Pheasant Court in Round Lake Beach, on Tuesday.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office said that Serna had two arrest warrants. One warrant was for failure to appear on prior domestic battery and driving under the influence of alcohol charges, and the other one was for an aggravated battery charge.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Team and Round Lake Beach police developed information that Serna was inside of his home. Warrants Team deputies along with Lake County Sheriff’s canine Duke entered the residence and located Serna hiding in the upstairs attic under the insulation, sheriff’s officials said.
