The Barrington Police Department is warning the public after a man reportedly tried to lure three children who were playing outside in Tower Lakes.

The Barrington Police Department said that on December 1, the Tower Lakes Police Department was notified that a man in a white Hyundai SUV approached three children who were playing in the area of the 24000 block of West Indian Grass Court in Tower Lakes, which is a small town located between Wauconda and Barrington.

According to police, the man told the children that if they would help him find his bunny, he would give them money. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, police said.

“This is a reminder to discuss stranger danger with your children and remind them never to be lured into a stranger’s car or go with a stranger in return for candy or other rewards,” the Barrington Police Department posted on Facebook.
