A drunken domestic dispute led to the arrests of a boyfriend and girlfriend in Libertyville on Sunday.
A Libertyville police officer spotted a vehicle driving on North Milwaukee Avenue at 2:40 a.m. with its passenger side door open and a female trying to exit the vehicle while it was moving, officials said.
The vehicle pulled into a parking lot in the 1300 block of North Milwaukee Avenue where the police officer heard and saw the boyfriend and girlfriend arguing, police said.
Police officers questioned the driver, Bryan J. Timmerman, 49, of 18793 West Wooddale Trail in Lake Villa, and detected a strong odor of alcohol. Field sobriety tests confirmed he had been driving under the influence of alcohol, authorities said. He was arrested and his vehicle was towed.
The female passenger in the vehicle, Kimberly A. Carroll, 47, of 764 Howard Avenue in Elmhurst, became physically aggressive with police.
“[Carroll] struck an officer with a closed fist and then urinated in the parking lot. She was placed in the squad car where she repeatedly kicked the prisoner cage,” the Libertyville Police Department said.
Once she was transported to the police station she continued to be aggressive and damaged a wall by throwing a chair, officials said.
Timmerman was processed and released after posting his driver’s license and a $1,000 personal recognizance bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on January 12 on the DUI charge.
Carroll was released on a $120 personal recognizance bond. She is scheduled to appear in court on January 10 on battery, public intoxication, public urination, and criminal damage to property charges.
