First responders located the crash on Route 120 between Wonder Lake Road and Ringwood Road. A newer model Ford sedan had sustained heavy damage after crashing into a telephone pole.

Firefighters and paramedics located two victims, a 20-year-old man and a 22-year-old man. The 22-year-old man was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at 12:55 a.m. at Centegra Hospital – McHenry. The 20-year-old was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The road was closed for investigation for several hours. It was re-opened at 4:40 a.m.
