A bank robber who struck at a Deerfield bank has now also robbed a Lake Forest bank, the FBI said.
The Deerfield Police Department responded to a bank robbery on December 29 at the Deerfield Bank & Trust at 660 Deerfield Road. Police said that a man walked in and took a slip of paper and wrote, “I need your money now!” and gave it to the teller.
He took more than $5,000 and fled towards a nearby neighborhood.
Just over a week later, the Lake Forest Police Department responded on Saturday to a bank robbery at the Fifth Third Bank, 990 South Waukegan Road in Lake Forest.
Police said a man entered the bank and gave the teller a note demanding money. The suspect fled the scene on foot after taking an undisclosed amount of money.
The FBI said the suspect is believed to be the same one in both bank robberies. A weapon was implied but not seen in both cases.
In the Lake Forest bank robbery, police said that the suspect was a male white, unknown age, 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10, 180-200 lbs, wearing blue jeans, a dark jacket, a hat and mask, and boots,
