A woman has died and two people were hospitalized with critical injuries after a two-vehicle crash in unincorporated Woodstock Saturday morning.

The Woodstock Fire/Rescue District was called at 9:30 a.m. to a report of a vehicle crash with injuries in the 9400 block of West Route 120 in unincorporated Woodstock.

According to an alert by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened on Route 120 between Greenwood Road and Thompson Road. Fire crews arrived and found two vehicles involved with heavy damage.

According to the McHenry County Coroner, Latricia E. Fisher, 30, of McHenry, was driving eastbound on Route 120 when a westbound car with two people in it crossed the center line striking her car.

Fisher was extricated from the vehicle by firefighters and transported to Centegra Hospital-McHenry where she was pronounced dead later that day. An autopsy on Fisher showed that she died from blunt force trauma to the chest and extremities, the coroner’s office said.

The two other victims who were in the westbound car were transported to the hospital with critical injuries.

A Flight For Life medical helicopter landed at the scene but did not transport any of the victims. The road was shutdown for several hours, the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office said.

The crash is under investigation by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.
