Body found in pool behind Waukegan house ID’d as missing teen

Lucio Cambray, 18, of Waukegan

The Lake County Coroner said that the body found in a pool behind a home in Waukegan on Monday has been identified as a missing 18-year-old.

The Waukegan Police Department began the death investigation early Monday morning behind a house at 1327 North Jackson Street. The Lake County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene at 2:30 a.m.

Lake County Coroner Dr. Howard Cooper said that the body found has been identified as Lucio Cambray, 18, of Waukegan. Cambray has been missing since Christmas day.

“Notification was made to his family last night and our deepest condolences go out to them. This is an awful tragedy for his family and the community,” Dr. Cooper added.

An autopsy is scheduled for Friday by the Lake County Coroner’s Office.

The house where Cambray’s body was found is the same one where a fire happened on December 4. Firefighters rescued a young woman; however, she later died at the hospital.
