A Cary man has been charged with attempted murder after police say that he stabbed another man multiple times in Fox River Grove on Saturday.
Police were called to the 200 block of Opatrny Drive in Fox River Grove at 11:42 p.m. for a report of a person who had been stabbed, Fox River Grove police said.
Police said that Michael D. Eccles, 60, of the 2400 block of Crystal Lake Road in Cary, stabbed a man he knew multiple times, causing serious injuries. The 36-year-old victim was transported by a Flight For Life medical helicopter in critical condition to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
Eccles was charged with attempted first-degree murder, aggravated battery and aggravated domestic battery. He is being held in the McHenry County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
The McHenry County Major Investigations Assistance Team and Fox River Grove police are investigating the stabbing. Eccles is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
