Kevin Adams, 46, of Warren Township

Lake County Sheriff’s detectives arrested a Gurnee man wanted for a sex offense while they were conducting an investigation in unincorporated Gurnee in December.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office said that on December 12 detectives were conducting an investigation in the 36300 block of North Route 41 in unincorporated Gurnee. During the investigation, they spoke to Kevin Adams, 46, of Gurnee, who lives in the area where detectives were investigating.

Adams lied to police and gave them a fake name. Once detectives found out Adams’ actual identity, they discovered he had an active arrest warrant out of Boise, Idaho for a “sexual offense involving penetration with a foreign object,” authorities said.

Adams was arrested on the warrant and also charged with obstruction of justice, which is a class 4 felony, for lying about his identity.

On January 11, Adams pleaded guilty to the obstruction of justice charge. He remains held in the Lake County Jail pending extradition to Boise, Idaho.
