A man was arrested after stealing a 60-inch television at gunpoint from a Woodstock Walmart Monday night, police said.

Woodstock police were called to the scene at 5 p.m. to the Walmart Supercenter, 1275 Lake Avenue for a report of a man who displayed a gun to employees.

Police said that the suspect tried to steal the television, valued at $700, from the store. When an employee confronted him and asked for the receipt the suspect pulled a gun on the employee.

Luis E. Arreola-Gonzalez, 24, of Woodstock

Police officers found the suspect, Luis E. Arreola-Gonzalez, 24, of 526 Birch Road in Woodstock, close to the store where they took him into custody. Arreola-Gonzalez is being charged with aggravated robbery, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, retail theft and obstructing justice.

Arreola-Gonzalez was transferred to the McHenry County Jail and is currently being held on a $143,000 bond. He must post $14,300 to be released. Arreola-Gonzalez is scheduled to appear in court Friday morning.
