The 22-month-old girl who was flown to a children’s hospital on Monday following a two-vehicle crash in unincorporated Zion is now listed in stable condition.

Emergency crews responded at 10:24 a.m. on Monday to a vehicle crash with injuries on Russell Road at Kenosha Road in unincorporated Zion.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office said that a black 2016 Toyota Camry was traveling westbound on Russell Road turning southbound onto Kenosha Road. A black 2013 GMC Terrain traveling eastbound Russell Road struck the Toyota Camry as it turned onto Kenosha Road.

A 22-month-old girl who was a passenger in the Toyota Camry was flown by Flight For Life to Childrenโ€™s Hospital of Wisconsin in Wauwatosa with a head injury.

On Wednesday, the Patch reported that the girl, who is from Winthrop Harbor, was listed in stable condition.ย Authorities said that the girl was secured in a child restraint system at the time of the crash. No citations have been issued.

Russell Road was closed between Lewis Avenue and Green Bay Road for several hours following the incident. The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriffโ€™s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.
