Sheriff’s officials said that a man tried to abduct a 13-year-old girl on Saturday near Wonder Lake.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office was called at 6 p.m. to Hancock Drive and East Wonder Lake Drive in Wonder Lake for a report of an attempted child abduction.

Sheriff’s deputies arrived and talked with a 13-year-old girl who said that as she was walking eastbound on Hancock Drive, a dark-colored pickup truck pulled up next to her. The driver, who was the only person inside of the truck, asked the girl if she had a lighter and held up a pack of cigarettes, authorities said.

The girl kept on walking and the man exited his truck and tried to grab her. “She was able to escape his grasp and he drove away eastbound on Hancock Drive,” the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office said.

  1. Try Toby Hammond, he lives in lake Geneva ; he assaulted my kids years ago at age 19 and was found guilty of numerous charges against a minor; but after six months went by; a different judge let him off. He looks Hispanic and could pass for that age as far as I know. This dude needs to be watched.
