Christopher R. Brown, 32, of Hebron

A Hebron man has been arrested after officials said he tried to solicit a 16-year-old girl, who is intellectually disabled, for sex, and then sexually assaulted her when she refused.

Christopher R. Brown, 32, of Hebron, was arrested on Sunday and charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse, a class 2 felony, and solicitation of a sex act, a class 4 felony.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office said that the charges are a result of an incident that happened last Friday. Sheriff’s deputies responded Saturday evening to a home in Hebron after family members of a 16-year-old girl called to report a sexual assault.

The sheriff’s office said that Brown tried to solicit the 16-year-old for sex in exchange for money. When she refused, he sexually assaulted her, authorities said.

Brown, who already had an outstanding warrant on another unrelated case, was taken into custody and charged early Sunday morning. He is being held in the McHenry County Jail on a $100,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court next on March 7.
