The Lake County Major Crime Task Force is investigating after a 29-year-old North Chicago man died after being shot early Monday morning.
North Chicago police were called at 12:51 a.m. for a report of shots fired near Green Bay Road and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in North Chicago. Waukegan police were called shortly after that to a report of a person shot near South Lewis Avenue and Catalpa Street in Waukegan.
The Lake County Major Crime Task Force said that Waukegan police officers found a 29-year-old North Chicago man who had been shot. He was transported by ambulance to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. The man’s name has not yet been released.
The North Chicago Police Department requested the Lake County Major Crime Task Force and Lake County Coroner’s Office to help investigate the shooting. Anyone with information is asked to call the Lake County CrimeStoppers at 847-662-2222.
