A Hoffman Estates man wanted for sexually assaulting a child in Lake Zurich was captured by U.S. Marshals on Wednesday after he fled to Texas to get away.
The U.S. Marshals Service apprehended Jeffrey W. Huckeby, 48, of the 1700 block of Kelberg Avenue in Hoffman Estates.
Huckeby was wanted on two felony warrants for one count of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. The warrants were issued following an investigation by the Lake Zurich Police Department.
The Lake County Sheriffโs Office and U.S. Marshals tried to locate Huckeby but were unsuccessful. They learned that Huckeby fled to Texas to avoid being arrested, sheriff’s officials said.
U.S. Marshals found Huckeby hiding in a trailer near the 8400 block of County Road 6440 in Lubbock, Texas on Wednesday. He was arrested and transported to theย Lubbock County Detention Center where he remains held pending an extradition hearing.
