No injuries were reported after a trailer carrying an excavator rolled over in Crystal Lake Friday afternoon.
Emergency crews were called to the scene around 4:20 p.m. on Friday to Route 31 and Rakow Road for a report of a rollover crash. When police arrived they found a trailer carrying an excavator that had rolled over. The truck pulling the trailer, which is owned by Copenhaver Construction, remained upright.
YouTube user Paul Christenson posted his dashcam video Friday night which caught the rollover as it happened.
The Crystal Lake Police Department issued a Nixle alert at 5 p.m. warning motorists about the traffic backups. Southbound Route 31 was reduced to one lane of traffic. It took several hours for recovery crews to clean up the scene, which was cleared at 8 p.m.
