A Wonder Lake man was charged on March 16 for allegedly sexually abusing a juvenile girl while he drove her to her Round Lake home from Woodstock, police said.
Luke E. Brennan, 55, of 7725 Beaver Road in Wonder Lake, was charged with one felony count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
Woodstock police began investigating in October when they received a report that Brennan, who is a taxi driver, was asked to drive a juvenile girl from the Special Education District of McHenry County school to her home in Round Lake. Police said he had allegedly sexually abused the girl while he drove her home.
The Lake County Child Advocacy Center, Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office, Department of Children and Family Services, Center Against Sexual Assault and the Woodstock Police Department interviewed the girl in January.
The case was turned over to the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office and Brennan was charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse on March 16. A warrant was issued and he turned himself in to police five days later.
Brennan’s bond was set at $50,000. He posted the required $5,000 bail and was released. He is scheduled to appear in court again on March 30.
