Diamonte D. Jeans, 23, of Wichita, Kansas

A Kansas man is facing numerous felony charges after police say he beat and robbed a Highland Park woman and refused to let her get out of his car for hours.

Diamonte D. Jeans, 23, of the 600 block of South Kansas Avenue in Wichita, Kansas, was arrested around 11:30 p.m. on May 1 and charged with unlawful restraint, domestic battery and battery.

Police said that Jeans allegedly held the Highland Park woman, who he knew, in his car and refused to let her get out while he drove around for hours. During that time police said that he physically struck her and took her money.

The woman was able to call 911 while inside the moving vehicle. Illinois State Police pulled over the car near Bolingbrook and arrested Jeans.

Court records show that Jeans was arrested in a separate incident on March 14 by Mundelein police for domestic battery and interfering with the reporting of domestic battery. He pleaded guilty on April 27 and received 12 months of supervision, just days before he allegedly held the Highland Park woman in his car.
