One person was killed and another was injured following a crash involving an SUV and minivan in Huntley, police said.

The Huntley Fire Protection District and Huntley police were called to Algonquin Road and Haligus Road in Huntley at 6:30 a.m. Monday for a report of a two-vehicle crash.

Police said one person was pronounced dead at the scene. Another person was transported to Centegra Hospital – Huntley in unknown condition. Both of their identities have not been released by authorities.

The cause of the collision has not been released by police. The crash, which occurred in front of Centegra Hospital – Huntley, closed the intersection for several hours.

Officials said that a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan and 2005 Ford Explorer were involved in the crash. The driver of the Ford Explorer was the one pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident is under investigation by the Huntley Police Department, McHenry County Coroner’s Office and the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team.
