A 51-year-old Huntley man was killed and another person was injured following a crash involving an SUV and minivan in Huntley Monday morning.

The Huntley Fire Protection District and Huntley Police Department were called to Algonquin Road and Haligus Road in Huntley at 6:30 a.m. Monday for a report of a two-vehicle crash.

Police said one person, identified as David C. Stone, 51, of Huntley, was pronounced dead at the scene. Another person was transported to Centegra Hospital – Huntley in unknown condition. McHenry County Coroner Anne Majewski said that an autopsy has been conducted but the final cause of death is pending additional studies.

The cause of the collision has not been released by police. The crash, which occurred in front of Centegra Hospital – Huntley, closed the intersection for several hours.

Officials said that a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan and 2005 Ford Explorer were involved in the crash. Officials said that Stone was the driver of the Ford Explorer.

The incident is under investigation by the Huntley Police Department, McHenry County Coroner’s Office and the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team.
