A Waukegan man suffered non-life-threatening injuries after being shot in Waukegan Wednesday afternoon.
The Waukegan Police Department was called to the area of McAree Road and Washington Street for a report of a shooting at 1:40 p.m. on Wednesday. Police officers found a victim shot and laying in the street.
Police described the victim as a Waukegan man in his 20s. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities said that two male blacks were last seen fleeing the area of the shooting, which occurred near Vista Medical Center West. “It is unknown the involvement, if any, these two individuals played in the incident. Based on early information, Investigators believe this is an isolated incident,” officials said.
