A Chicago man is facing numerous charges after he allegedly sold heroin and a gun to an undercover cop in Lake County.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office announced that the Gang Task Force concluded a several month investigation which led to the arrest of Trae A. Wallace, 25, of the 6500 block of South Ingleside Street in Chicago.
Lake County Sheriff Sgt. Christopher Covelli said that Wallace sold heroin on “numerous occasions” as well as a gun to undercover detectives.
Wallace was arrested on June 14 after a warrant was issued for his arrest for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, five counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, five counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful sale of a firearm.
Wallace was arrested by Lake County Sheriff’s Gang Task Force detectives near Route 120 and Lincoln Avenue in Waukegan. Police found nine individually packaged bags of heroin and four individually packaged bags of cocaine on Wallace when they arrested him.
He was additionally charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
Wallace remains held in the Lake County Jail on $200,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court next on July 11.
