Lewis E. Shamberg

A Wildwood man, who is reportedly a former Lake County Courthouse security guard, was arrested on Saturday after police found marijuana and cocaine in his vehicle.

Lewis E. Shamberg, of the 33000 block of North Greentree Road in unincorporated Grayslake, was arrested after Lake County Sheriff’s deputies were called for a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 32000 block of North John Mogg Road in unincorporated Grayslake.

Lake County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Christopher Covelli said that Shamberg was in his car in the parking when deputies stopped him. Sheriff’s deputies could smell marijuana and police canine Diesel was called to sniff the vehicle.

Canine Diesel alerted officers to two spots in the car where drugs were then found. 123 grams of marijuana packaged into baggies, 2.5 grams of cocaine and paraphernalia including a scale, packaging material, a glass pipe and a used hypodermic syringe with heroin were all found in the car.
