A 18-year-old Lindenhurst man was critically injured after a car struck his motorcycle near unincorporated Lake Villa Monday morning.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office was called at 11:25 a.m. to Rollins Road and Route 45 in Warren Township for a vehicle crash involving a motorcycle. Sheriff’s deputies arrived and found the driver of the motorcycle had “significant injuries.”

Lake County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Christopher Covelli said that the driver of the 2002 Kawasaki Motorcycle, an 18-year-old man of Lindenhurst, was driving westbound on Rollins Road.

The man attempted to make a left turn onto southbound Route 45 when a 2007 Chrysler Sedan, driven by a 19-year-old man of Round Lake, was going eastbound and struck the motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with critical injuries.

The driver of the Chrysler was not injured; however, a woman and young girl in the Chrysler were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
