A pickup truck was pulled out of the Fox River near Cary Sunday morning after a resident saw tire tracks leading into the water.

The Cary Fire Protection District and Cary Police Department were called by a resident at 7:30 a.m. to the area of Mildred Avenue and Cary Avenue.

The resident told police that there were tire tracks in the grass of a vacant lot near the intersection. Firefighters called for specialized sonar techs and divers to respond to the scene to help search the water.

A red Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD pickup truck was pulled out of the water. Divers did not find anyone in the vehicle or water.

It was learned that the driver crashed the truck into the water during the night but did not report it to police. No one was injured in the incident.

A case of beer was seen in the front seat of the vehicle when it was pulled out of the water. Police have not commented about the incident or whether charges will be filed against the driver.
