A Woodstock man has been charged after sheriff’s officials say that he robbed a 55-year-old man with a BB gun in unincorporated Woodstock Friday morning.

Jacob Hawley, 21, of Woodstock, was charged with aggravated robbery and residential burglary, both class 1 felonies.

A McHenry County Sheriff’s Office supervisor was flagged down Friday morning by a 55-year-old Woodstock man who told the deputy that he had just been robbed at gunpoint, authorities said.

The incident occurred in the 13000 block of South Street Road in unincorporated Woodstock. Hawley was taken into custody shortly after it occurred.

Deputies recovered a black BB gun and the stolen property in Hawley’s possession when he was taken into custody. Woodstock police assisted the sheriff’s office with the investigation.

Authorities did not provide further details on the robbery.

Hawley appeared in bond court Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m. He remains confined in the McHenry County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in court next on July 10.
