The Lake County Sheriff’s Office and Antioch Fire Department was called at 5:15 a.m. Friday to Grass Lake Road and Kathryn Drive in Antioch Township for a report of a motorcycle down.

Police found a 1999 Honda Motorcycle on the east side of the roadway but no driver. Following a brief search, emergency crews found a Lake Villa man, who has not yet been publicly identified, dead in the tree line near the motorcycle.

Lake County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Christopher Covelli said that the motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Grass Lake Road just south of Kathryn Drive when it left the roadway for an unknown reason.
