A teenager is dead and another person was injured after a shooting at Scoop the Loop in Waukegan Friday evening.

The Waukegan Police Department and Waukegan Fire Department were called at 11 p.m. Friday to a shooting in downtown Waukegan near Clayton Street and Genesee Street.

Emergency crews found 19-year-old Daiyon Bolden of Waukegan shot in the head. The teen was transported by paramedics to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police said that a Beach Park man in his 20s was also shot. He was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A 15-year-old Waukegan boy was arrested by police at the shooting scene. He has been charged with first-degree murder and aggravated battery with a firearm.

The boy, whose identity is being withheld because he is a minor, was transported to Depke Juvenile Detention Center in Vernon Hills where he currently remains held in custody.

The above video was originally published on Facebook and shows a fight and large gathering of people at the festival. The video was reportedly taken just prior to the shooting.

Scoop Waukegan, also known as Scoop the Loop, is a large car show that takes place annually in downtown Waukegan. The festival is running from July 13 to July 14 this year.

“Detectives from the Waukegan Police Department’s Investigations Division believe the incident was a carry-over from an on-going feud, when those involved saw each other,” Waukegan Police Chief Wayne Walles said.
