The Woodstock Police Department is asking the public’s help in solving a cold case from 2017 where a 43-year-old man was struck and killed by a car.

On Monday, Woodstock Police Chief John Lieb issued a statement asking for help in identifying an unknown make and model red car that struck and killed Daniel P. Anderson, 43, of Woodstock.

Anderson was struck while walking near Route 14 and Lake Shore Drive in Woodstock at 9:48 p.m. on March 30, 2017. He was transported to Centegra Hospital in Woodstock where he was pronounced dead at 10:56 p.m.

Chief Lieb said that the suspect vehicle did not stop after hitting Anderson and continued westbound on Route 14 towards Route 47.

“We are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying this vehicle. The attached pictures are the only photos available of the vehicle,” Chief Lieb added.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Woodstock Police Department at 815-338-2131. Callers can remain anonymous if requested, police said.
