A fire broke out at the Gold Pyramid House tourist attraction in Wadsworth Tuesday afternoon, bringing fire departments from across the county to the scene.

The Gold Pyramid House, which is located on the far northeast side of Lake County at 37921 North Dilleys Road in Wadsworth, caught fire around 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Fire crews arrived at the scene and found heavy smoke from two floors of the pyramid shaped house. A second alarm was requested using the Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (MABAS), which brought in fire departments from around the county to help fight the fire.

It was initially reported that a handicap person was trapped in the house but fire crews reported that the person got out safely.

The Gold Pyramid House is a six-story tall home shaped like a pyramid. The extent of damage is unknown at this time. According to ABC7 News, work was being done on the house when the fire started.
