A 22-year-old Woodstock woman was seriously injured after being struck by lightning early Friday morning at the Country Thunder Music Festival in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin.

The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department said that at 12:36 a.m. on Friday, Brittney N. Prehn, 22, of Woodstock, was struck by lightning at the Country Thunder Music Festival, 2305 Lance Drive in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin.

Emergency crews found the woman unconscious and seriously injured. She was transported by ambulance to Centegra Hospital – McHenry where she was later transferred to Loyola University Medical Center.

Authorities initially were unable to identify Prehn because she did not have any identification on her but her parents later contacted the sheriff’s office and identified her.

Emergency crews said that Prehn was talking on her cellphone when she was struck by lightning. The electricity went through her body and out through her foot. Photos show her cellphone and shoes heavily damaged from the strike.

Prehn is currently in the intensive care unit (ICU) at Loyola University Medical Center, according to ABC7 News.
