The Lake County Major Crime Task Force was called to help investigate the death.

The Lake County Major Crime Task Force is investigating after a man was found dead with ‘suspicious injuries’ in an alley in Lake Villa Saturday evening.

The Lake Villa Police Department was called at 10:30 p.m. Saturday to the 300 block of east Grand Avenue in Lake Villa for a report of an injured person in an alley. Police officers arrived and found an adult man dead.

“The death is being considered suspicious due to injuries on the man’s body,” Lake County Major Crimes Task Force spokesman Christopher Covelli said.

Covelli said that Lake Villa police requested the Lake County Major Crime Task Force to help assist in the investigation. An autopsy will be conducted by the Lake County Coroner’s Office on Monday morning.

Two people of interest are in custody. Criminal charges have not yet been filed.

Authorities said the death appears to be an isolated incident but they did not elaborate on the details. Lake Villa police detectives and Lake County Major Crime Task Force investigators continue to investigate the death.
