A Gurnee man was arrested after police and DEA agents found a stolen handgun and drugs in his home during a search warrant.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Gang Task Force, Gurnee Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) conducted a search warrant at a home in the 4300 block of Finch Court in Gurnee on Tuesday.
Lake County Sheriff Sgt. Christopher Covelli said that the warrant was the result of a month-long investigation. 20-year-old Daivon Cobb was arrested after police recovered a handgun, 26 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Covelli said that the handgun was previously reported stolen.
Cobb, who resided at the home of the search warrant, was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, unlawful possession of cannabis, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful use weapon-no FOID and endangering the life/health of a child.
Cobb was released after posting 10 percent of his $20,000 bond. He is due back in court on August 3.
