Jose G. Guerra, Jr., 31, of Waukegan

A 31-year-old Waukegan man was arrested after police say that he stole over $350 from a Verizon Wireless store in Libertyville where he worked.

Jose G. Guerra, Jr., 31, of the 800 block of Washington Park in Waukegan, was charged with theft under $500, which is a class A misdemeanor.

The Libertyville Police Department was called on July 24 at 11:50 a.m. to the Verizon Wireless store, 1447 Peterson Road in Libertyville, for a report of an employee stealing money out of a cash drawer.

Police said that surveillance video showed Guerra Jr. stealing $362.80 from the cash drawer. The store manager also told authorities that a cell phone was missing and an additional $48.49 in cash but he did not have video evidence of the theft.

Police officers arrested Guerra Jr. and processed him. He was released after signing a personal recognizance bond for $1,500.
