A 26-year-old Wildwood woman was rescued after rolling her car over into a retention pond off of Interstate 90 near Huntley on Friday.
The Huntley Fire Protection District and Illinois State Police were called to a report of a rollover crash that happened around 3:18 p.m. on Friday. Authorities said that the crash happened on the Interstate 90 ramp to southbound Route 47.
Police said that a gray 2010 Hyundai, driven by Joanna Girmscheid, 26, of Wildwood, rolled over into a retention pond from the exit ramp.
Girmscheid was reportedly rescued by bystanders and CPR was started. Paramedics arrived and transported her in fair condition to Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin.
A tow truck was called to pull the vehicle out of the water and the scene was cleared in about an hour. Illinois State Police did not say what caused the crash.
