A Barrington man, who is a documented street gang member and wanted on a warrant, was apprehended after authorities found him hiding in a garage of a house in Mundelein.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Team and U.S. Marshals arrested Thomas F. Kornfeind, 44, of the 400 block of East Oakwood Drive in Barrington, on Sunday.
Kornfeind, a documented street gang member, had a felony arrest warrant for aggravated domestic battery, theft and criminal damage to property.
The warrant was obtained by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office on August 9 after a domestic dispute in unincorporated Barrington involving Kornfeind.
Members of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Team and U.S. Marshals found out that Kornfeind was hiding at a home in the 400 block of Arbour Court in Mundelein. On Sunday, members of the Sheriff’s Warrants Team arrested Kornfeind inside the garage of the house.
Kornfeind was transported to the Lake County Jail where he remains held on $250,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court next on August 23.
