
A “domestically charged shooting” left a 47-year-old Waukegan man in serious but stable condition early Friday morning, police said.
The Waukegan Police Department was called around 6 a.m. to a multi-family home in the 900 block of South Jackson Street, near 9th Street, for a shooting.
Police officers found a 47-year-old Waukegan man shot on the porch of the residence. The man was transported by the Waukegan Fire Department to an area hospital in serious but stable condition, Waukegan Police Commander Joe Florip said.
Investigators were seen working at the scene Friday morning into the early afternoon.
Detectives from the Waukegan Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division are saying that the shooting was domestically charged. No one is in custody as of Friday afternoon but police said that they are following up on several leads.
This is the third person shot in Waukegan within the span of two days. Late Wednesday evening a Zion man was shot and killed and a Waukegan man was shot in a shooting near Grand Avenue and Butrick Street.
