Investigators are working to determine the cause of a fire at the Cubby Hole restaurant in Richmond Saturday night.

The Richmond Fire Department was called at 9 p.m. on Saturday to the Cubby Hole restaurant, 10713 Main Street in Richmond, for a report of a structure fire.

Firefighters arrived and found heavy flames and smoke showing. The Richmond Fire Department said that the fire originated in the kitchen and was extinguished in 30 minutes.

McHenry County Sheriff’s Office investigators were at the scene investigating but a cause has not yet been released. Damage was estimated at $150,000.

It is unknown yet how long it will take to repair the building. Firefighters from Hebron, Spring Grove, Randall, Twin Lakes, Nunda-Rural, McHenry, Wonder Lake, Woodstock, Crystal Lake, Bloomfield, Antioch and Fox Lake assisted the Richmond Fire Department.
