The armed robbery occurred in a garage of a home in the 300 block of Elder Drive in Round Lake Park.

A 17-year-old and another person is in custody after the pair allegedly robbed a person inside a garage at knifepoint in Round Lake Park on Sunday.

The Round Lake Park Police Department was called around 7 p.m. Sunday to the 300 block of Elder Drive in Round Lake Park for a report of a disturbance.

When police arrived they found out that the victim had been robbed at knifepoint by two suspects who took the victim’s cellphone and jewelry. One of the suspects, a 17-year-old boy, was apprehended by responding officers.

The victim positively identified the boy and he was charged with armed robbery, a class X felony, aggravated armed robbery, a class 1 felony and robbery, a class 2 felony.

The 17-year-old is being held at the Depke Juvenile Detention Center in Vernon Hills. Police announced on Tuesday morning that a second suspect has now been captured and charged.

It is unknown if the two suspects knew the victim or not. Police have not released any other details.
