Isiah J. Jarrett, 33, of Wisconsin

Police have arrested a man who fled from a court security officer after a judge increased his bond at the Lake County Courthouse Wednesday morning.

Isiah J. Jarrett, 33, of the 5000 block of Graceland Boulevard in Mt. Pleasant, Wisconsin, was at the Lake County Courthouse around 11 a.m. for a hearing on an aggravated driving under the influence case.

Jarrett, who was not in custody at the time of the hearing, had his bond increased to $50,000 after he failed a drug screening.

As a court security officer began the process of taken Jarrett into custody to the Lake County Jail, he resisted arrest, pushed away from the officer, and ran out of the courtroom, Lake County Sheriff Sgt. Christopher Covelli said.

Jarrett then ran down a stairwell and exited out a ground-level door. On his way down, he pulled a fire alarm, prompting an evacuation of the building.

Authorities said that Jarrett got into a waiting 2008 Chevrolet Uplander before fleeing the scene.

The vehicle was stopped by police at Route 120 and Green Bay Road in Waukegan a short time later; however, Jarrett was no longer inside.

An arrest warrant for escape and resisting arrest was obtained and police arrested Jarrett at his home Wednesday afternoon.
