A 62-year-old man was found after apparently drowning on Monday morning in Deerfield, police said.

The Deerfield Police Department said that police officers and firefighters were called at 7:30 a.m. to a retention pond in the 500 block of Lake Cook Road for a medical call.

Emergency crews found a 62-year-old man, whose identity has not yet been released, unresponsive in the pond.

The man was pulled from the water by divers and transported to Highland Park Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 8:01 a.m. by a doctor. The Lake County Coroner’s Office was called to the scene to assist with the investigation.

The Deerfield Police Department said that there were no signs of trauma, foul play or suspicious circumstances. The Lake County Coroner’s Office is treating this as a possible drowning, officials added.

More details will be released as they become available, police said. An autopsy has been scheduled by the Lake County Coroner’s Office.
