A man was seriously injured early Saturday morning after his minivan went off the road and rolled over in Lake Villa Township.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office was called to the 39200 block of Route 45 in Lake Villa Township for a rollover crash with injuries at 1:15 a.m. Saturday.
Lake County Sheriff Sgt. Christopher Covelli said that a 2003 Dodge Caravan suffered extensive damage in the crash. The driver, a 43-year-old man from Union Grove, Wisconsin, had been ejected from the car.
Covelli said that the man was driving southbound on Route 45 north of Grass Lake Road. The man crossed over into northbound lanes of traffic and drove off the east side of the roadway into the ditch.
The minivan had rolled over and the driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was ejected. He was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with serious injuries, Covelli added.
The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office and investigators are working to determine if alcohol was a factor.
