A man was shot to death during a robbery at a home in Lindenhurst early Tuesday morning, the Lake County Major Crime Task Force said.

The Lindenhurst Police Department was called to a single-family home in the 300 block of Teal Road for a possible robbery around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday. The 911 caller told police that someone had been shot during the robbery.

Responding police officers found an adult male dead. The Lindenhurst Police Department requested the Lake County Major Crime Task Force to assist with the investigation.

Lindenhurst police investigators and Lake County Major Crime Task Force investigators continue to investigate the incident, officials said.

“This appears to be an isolated event and there is no active threat to the community,” Lake County Major Crime Task Force spokesman Christopher Covelli said.

The Lake County Coroner’s Office has scheduled an autopsy for Tuesday afternoon on the man, whose identity has not been publicly released.
