The Lindenhurst Police Department was called to a single-family home in the 300 block of Teal Road for a possible robbery around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday. The 911 caller told police that someone had been shot during the robbery.

Responding police officers found an adult male dead. The Lindenhurst Police Department requested the Lake County Major Crime Task Force to assist with the investigation.

The Lake County Coroner’s Office conducted an autopsy Tuesday afternoon on the man killed. Autopsy results and the man’s name have not yet been released.

The homeowner and everyone who lives at the home were not shot during the incident, police said. No other details about the incident have been released by authorities.

“This appears to be an isolated event and there is no active threat to the community,” Covelli said. “This does not appear to be a random robbery or attack.”
