One person had to be extricated and flown to a trauma center following a crash involving a tanker truck and a Jeep in Hebron Township Monday morning.

The Hebron-Alden-Greenwood Fire Protection District and McHenry County Sheriff’s Office was called around 8:30 a.m. Monday to a crash involving a Jeep Grand Cherokee and a semi truck carrying a tanker near Greenwood Road and Tryon Grove Road in Hebron Township.

Emergency crews found one victim injured and trapped inside the Jeep Grand Cherokee, which had heavy damage.

Firefighters freed the victim from the car and a Flight For Life medical helicopter transported the victim to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.

Two other people were involved in the crash but refused medical treatment. The trailer to the semi-truck was seen leaking an unknown non-toxic liquid.

The crash remains under investigation by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, who has not yet released any official information.
