One person is believed to have suffered serious injuries and two police officers suffered minor injuries after a fire at a Crystal Lake home Monday evening.

The Crystal Lake Fire Department was called to the 600 block of Sussex Lane just after 4 p.m. Monday for a report of a house fire.

Crystal Lake Deputy Fire Chief Chris Olsen said that a Crystal Lake Park District police officer was passing by the home and saw the fire. Fire crews found a fire on the south side of the home and worked to extinguish it.

A dog was also found in the home and transported to a local animal hospital where it’s expected to recover. The condition of the victim found by firefighters was not immediately known, fire officials said.
